Zalán Makranczi

Zalán Makranczi, actor, Imre Soós Prize-laureate

Zalán Makranczi was born in 1979. After finishing Pesti Magyar Theatre’s Academy (formerly known as National Studio), he played at several prominent theatres in Budapest as well as in different cities throughout the country such as National Theatre, Pesti Magyar Theatre, Bárka Theatre, József Katona Theatre in Kecskemét and Vörösmarty Theatre in Székesfehérvár. He’s currently a freelancer, he plays in II. Edward (dir. Róbert Alföldi) in Átrium, in A Valentin-nap éjszakáj (dir. Dániel Dicső) in Rózsavölgyi Szalon Arts&Café, and in A hős (dir. Dániel Gaál) at Ódry Színpad.

He was the voice of one of the lead characters in Ruben Brandt, Collector (d. Milorad Kristić), was a part of the most successful production, Kincsem (dir. Gábor Herendi), starred in the movie called Nyugalom (dir. Róbert Alföldi), he appeared in HBO’s original TV show, Aranyélet (dir. Zsombor Dyga), he’s a recurring character in Drága örökösök (dir. Márk Radnai) broadcasted by RTL Klub and he also played a part in Netflix’s original animated series Love, Death & Robots (dir. István Zorkóczy). He has also dubbed many series and movies. He has a one man show in Spinoza Theatre which is based on Platon’s Apology.

In September 2019 he is playing a role in Cat City (dir. Vajk Szente) in Attila József Theatre, and he also got a part in RTL Klub’s first original series, Mellékhatás (Side Effect).
